A little about me...
Rachel is a small business owner and Virginia Beach native. She is a Virginia licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP), Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Myofunctional Therapist (CMT). Rachel has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology & Language Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic University and a Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Old Dominion University.
Rachel has worked with individuals across the lifespan within various settings including Skilled Nursing Facilities, Long term care, Assisted Living Facilities, Home health care, Outpatient clinics, acute care and inpatient rehabilitation (hospital). Rachel believes in providing individualized, patient centered services. Rachel specializes in working with individuals with TOTS (tethered oral tissues), myofunctional disorders, feeding/swallowing, breast/bottle feeding, dysphagia, and aphasia.
ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Rachel has additional advanced training specifically in adult/geriatric dysphagia (swallowing), aphasia, infant/pediatric feeding & swallowing, breastfeeding & bottle-feeding, myofunctional therapy.
