  • Infant feeding therapy can include breastfeeding, bottle-feeding babies, transition to solids, etc. Rachel Minichiello is specially trained in all of the aforementioned areas to best serve infants.

Sometimes this can also include identification and support for infants with oral ties.

  • Rachel is specialized in pediatric feeding therapy for infants and young children. She is highly trained in assessing and guiding those with tethered oral tissues and oral motor function/dysfunction.

We can build foundational skills before transitioning to myofunctional therapy to increase optimal patterns, aide in orofacial development, oral function, healthy breathing patterns/airway development, etc. Our focus here is to provide an enjoyable, safe, functional experience using a combinations of methods such as a sensory-based oral motor approach.

We provide information for parents to be informed and confident as their child develops and grows. We offer guidance as you approach various stages of your journey and treatment plan.

  • Orofacial myofunctional therapy includes exercises/therapy to strengthen, habilitate, and reestablish neuromuscular patterns for orofacial muscles to increase optimal function.

Goals may address nasal breathing, appropriate tongue posture at rest, lip seal, optimal chewing and swallowing patterns, improving clarity and production of speech.

For optimal results, we work closely with an interdisciplinary team which may include Orthodontists, Dentists, Oral Surgeons, ENTs, Allergists, GI (Gastrointestional specialists), Pediatricians/Doctors, Physical Therapists, Functional Medicine Providers, Massage Therapists and other professionals.

  • We evaluate and treat a vast range of communication, language, social, cognitive and swallowing disorders in people of all ages (infants- elderly).

We can address issues like speech sounds/articulation, fluency (stuttering), early language development, language comprehension, language expression, voice quality, social communication, and safe feeding/swallowing.

We can help those who have developmental delays, those who have suffered stroke and/or brain injury.

    • providing parents with more information and guidance that requires additional time than just a phone call

    • Receive information regarding specific milestones related to your child’s development

    • Those who need a coaching style session to encourage optimal function but do not require a full evaluation.
